Garmin just pushed out a paywall called Connect+
6 “new” features... They reintroduced custom dashboards with excellent workout graphs …but no option to see gear mileage or tracking social challenges. 💩
The old dashboards ruled and had it all:
I have been using runalyze.com to see just this one graph to track my long runs:
With the new dashboards I can now see this graph - awesome - worth the money!!
…BUT Garmin doesn’t understand its users AT ALL.
Fitbit got popular because it introduced a leaderboard and users was able to compete and challenge each other for amount of steps. Garmin was next level and added a hunt for badges and activity points with a leaderboard.

But what did Garmin decide to do? They now undermine all the work I have done to get badges and get on top of the leaderboard by being active and working hard. Soon there will be a badge added from “Connect+”. I am the only one of my contacts who have Connect+ and will now get points “I paid for” which they can’t get. I am out of the competition. It is like buying fake followers on twitter! 💩
That or miss out on the new dashboards… What a horrible and crappy choice! 💩
//Update: Technically I can leave the Connect+ challenges or just not join them in the first place. But soon or later I probably would accidentally join one. And anyone who can see the star on my avatar will think my points are fake, regardless what I do here. 💩
