*) I prioritize walking and running over gym = 12,000 steps/day. And when I go to the gym I want to train functional movements and that is it.
⊠I agree with his list 100%. I suck at most of it and therefore donât like it. But there are things here Iâm fairly good at (~Squat cleans) that I have to agree is adding risk of injury and can tear on your knees. My only complaint is that he didnât include âGHDâ sit-ups to the list. They are extremely dangerous for beginners.
I am impressed by people who can perform beautiful pistols and master double-unders. And hand-stand walking is amazing, but how practical are these movements in your everyday life. All of this is just good for showing offâŠ đ€Ł Whenever I was with people outside of the gym and kicked my legs up to land them against a tree and just stand there on my hands, they would be amazed and cheer me on! In terms of transporting your body and heavy objects fast over a distance these circus skills donât do much.
I love to avoid things that doesnât apply to my life. I have a Spartan race coming up and have been running miles with a sandbag. It is a personal thing. I currently also following a 17 week Deadlift program. It is a personal thing.
I often workout with friends that are beginners. It is fun and simple to program for them. I donât program handstand push-ups, double-unders and sandbag running.
