I love CrossFit and high intensity workouts. But that only represent 20% of my training! Get a Garmin (or Amazfit), some running shoes and join me on the trail/track/treadmill!

Me!
First screenshot below shows my max heart rate during a CrossFit workout where we sprinted 200m followed by an AMRAP (Wallballs and weighted box step-ups) for four rounds, before that you see four 100m warmup runs. I maxed at 168 bpm. You could make the case I didn’t push hard enough and should have run faster. But I’m happy with 4:22 minutes/mile pace. It is a good sprint!
Second screenshot shows a long treadmill run where I ran slow and in Zone 2 for well over an hour. Sprinted at the end. This type of run is not only how I reach weekly run volumes of 30-50 miles but also how I use 80-20 balance in my training to build a strong heart that endure even under high intensity! 🤙
-Mat, how much did you run, while training for the games?
Threshold/Sprint runs but also a Zone 2 long slow run!
-Mat, how do you train for HYROX?
Zone 2 once or twice a week!
