Around Sept-Oct 2022, a friend asked me if I wanted to run around Mt. Helens in the summer of 2023. This in just one day = 33 miles and 8,000 ft. climb! I wasnβt a runner but active in CrossFit and I enjoyed outdoors and hiking. I had hiked up and down Mt. Adams before. I also had ran 2 miles once during a CrossFit class! ππ
In β23 I ended up running around both Mt. Helens - Loowit Loop Trail and Mt. Hood - Timberline Trail 33 + 42 = 75 miles (and 18,700 ft. vertical climb)

I will always remember 2023 as the most amazing year as this was all new to me. In 2024 I ran around Loowit again and also up to Johnston Ridge Observatory. Only way to get there was by foot at the time. This year was not as lush but still absolutely amazing.
