My Garmin watch has “Treadmill Running” installed as a workout type by default and it works amazing. The watch and treadmill give you same distance If you keep consistent stride length and cadence.
But what about walking on a treadmill?
If you use “Walk” as workout type on the treadmill it tries to use the GPS to determine the distance = You don’t get very far. It might count towards “hours of walking activities” but you lose the distance, which was a metric your watch was intended to track for you.
Well, there are 2 solutions (Second is a no-brainer):
Copy your walking activity and disable all GPS options = ‘Treadmill Walking”
Search and add “Walk Indoor” activity… It did exist but I had to write this post to finally find it…. 😛🥊☠
